Biography

My name is Gary Ward and I'm the principal photographer for No Frills Weddings and G. Thomas Ward Photography. I received my BFA in Photography from the University of Illinois and have been living and working as a photographer in Chicago since 1990. In addition to weddings, I love to shoot actors and all sorts of performers, private and corporate events, and a wide variety of PR and commercial photography.  Outside of Photography, I manage a rock band, and sing bass in a chorus.  Oh, and I have had strangely sharp and accurate vision since I was a wee lad, which perhaps goes a long way in explaining my chosen profession.

Interests

My interests include news, politics, exercise, live music, rare and vintage film and tv clips, local performers, and good times with good friends.

Wedding Photography Prices and Services

Basic

• $995 - Includes up to 6 hours shoot time on your wedding day in Chicago within a 15 mile radius of our office at 5010 N. Wolcott Ave.  High-resolution images will be delivered on DVD, and includes permission to have them reproduced and printed at the lab of your choice.

Additional Hours

• $150/hour for the main photographer

Additional Photographer

• $125/hour  This is usually recommended for weddings over 150 guests

Proofs and Album

• $500 - Get all the shots (up to 500) from your wedding (150 guests or under, with one photographer) in a leather album. 

• $750 - Includes up to 1000 shots, for weddings with 151-250 guests or 2 photographers.

Travel

• 16-30 miles - $75 per photographer

• 31-60 miles - $150 per photographer

Engagement Portrait

• $200 - Includes a 1 hour studio or nearby location sitting and 1 high resolution digital file

Chicago Has A New Wedding Photographer

Today, April 7, 2009 is the first day of my new business.  I call it "No Frills Weddings".  My mission is to provide high quality wedding photography in the Chicago area for budget minded couples.  I'm very excited about working with realistic, down to earth clients who want to make their day special, but realize that breaking the bank isn't the way to do it.  Your day is a celebration of love to share with family and friends, and you don't have to spend thousands of dollars on overpriced photographers to get fantastic wedding photography that will preserve the memories of your day for years and years to come. 

Over the coming weeks, months, and years, I'll be sharing my journey as a photographer in this new enterprise with you.  I can't think of a better time to do this as our values are shifting in today's challenging economic climate.  Let me help you get started on the right foot.
